Josefov looks small on a map and feels much bigger once you are in it. From Maiselova you can find the Pinkas Synagogue without any planning, and it is worth going there first, before the rest of the day crowds in.

The names that cover the walls of Pinkas are not something to photograph and move on from. Read a few of them, then simply stand for a while. If it is crowded, give it a couple of minutes and the groups usually move along.

The Old Jewish Cemetery is right next door. The quarter ran out of ground long ago, so graves were laid over older graves, and the stones now stand pressed together. Look at the carvings, the hands and the animals, but please do not lean on them.

The Jewish Town sites close on Saturdays and on Jewish holidays, so check your ticket for the day you plan to go. Afterwards, take your time walking back; the restaurant is on the same street.
